Die Ergebnisse der neuen sogenannten „Integrated Food Security Phase Classification“ (IPC) – im Rahmen derer Hunger gemessen und in 5 Phasen eingeteilt wird – zeigen für den Jemen erschreckendes: Zum ersten Mal seit zwei Jahren gleicht die Situation in einigen Gebieten einer Hungersnot (IPC-Phase 5).
Der Bericht „COVID-19: Missing More Than a Classroom“ stellt fest, dass weltweit 370 Millionen Kinder aufgrund von COVID-19-bedingten Schulschließungen im Durchschnitt rund 40 Prozent ihrer Schulmahlzeiten verpasst haben.
Eine WFP-Überprüfung unter registrierten Empfängern der Ernährungshilfe hat ergeben, dass viele in der Hauptstadt nicht die Notrationen erhalten haben, die ihnen zustehen. In anderen Gebieten wurde Hungernden die volle Notration verweigert.
