Die COVID-19-Pandemie, die Unterbrechungen internationaler Lieferketten und der Krieg in der Ukraine haben starke Auswirkungen auf die miteinander verflochtenen Nahrungsmittel-, Treibstoff- und Düngemittelmärkte Nach Schätzungen von WFP ist die Zahl der Menschen, die akut Hunger leiden bis Juni 2022 auf 345 Millionen in 82 Ländern angestiegen.
Dank dieser Partnerschaft können Bauern in vier Entwicklungsländern wetterbasierte Versicherungen in Anspruch nehmen und sich so gegen die Folgen von Stürmen und Dürren versichern. Die Prämien können sie mit ihrer Arbeitskraft in “Food and Cash for Work”- Programmen des WFP bezahlen.
