Der größte Anstieg von Hunger wird in den Bundesstaaten West-Darfur, West-Kordofan, Blauer Nil, Rotes Meer und Nord-Darfur erwartet. Währenddessen steigen die Nahrungsmittelpreise im ganzen Land. Die Preise für Grundnahrungsmittel könnten in den nächsten drei bis sechs Monaten um 25 Prozent steigen.
Die erweiterte Hilfe, die WFP und humanitäre Partner für die von den Überschwemmungen betroffenen Familien bereitstellen, umfasst Ernährungshilfe, Vorbeugung gegen Unterernährung und Unterstützung bei der Sicherung des Lebensunterhalts. WFP leistet außerdem logistische Unterstützung für den Hilfseinsatz.
