Das UN World Food Programme (WFP) arbeitet daher eng mit anderen UN-Organisationen und internationalen Institutionen zusammen, damit sich Programme sinnvoll ergänzen – in Krisen aber auch langfristigen Entwicklungskontexten.
"Wir haben bereits unsere Häuser in Khartum verloren und mussten mit ansehen, wie unser Leben vor unseren Augen zerstört wurde. Nun müssen wir erneut fliehen und das Wenige, das uns geblieben ist, zurückzulassen. Hunderttausende fliehen zu Fuß und können nirgendwo hin.
Heute stehen 34 Millionen Menschen auf der ganzen Welt am Rande einer Hungersnot – und der kleinste Schock könnte sie in den Abgrund reißen. Das UN World Food Programme (WFP) arbeitet rund um die Uhr, um Hungersnöte abzuwenden. Doch damit das möglich ist, brauchen wir dringend 5,5 Milliarden US-Dollar.
WFP unterstützt nationale Regierungen, die bereits mit den zusammenwirkenden Effekten von Konflikten, der Klimakrise und den steigenden Kosten für Nahrungsmittel und Treibstoffe zu kämpfen haben, den Hunger zu bekämpfen.
