For millions of people across Africa, Asia and Latin America, climate change means more frequent and intense floods, droughts and storms, accounting each year for up to 90 percent of all climate-related disasters.

Brechen Katastrophen oder Konflikte aus, dann ist Ernährungshilfe nicht die einzige Priorität: Menschen in Not brauchen auch Wasser, Hygieneartikel und Unterkünfte. Das UN World Food Programme (WFP) arbeitet daher eng mit anderen UN-Organisationen und internationalen Institutionen zusammen, damit sich Programme sinnvoll ergänzen – in Krisen aber auch langfristigen Entwicklungskontexten.
Heute stehen 34 Millionen Menschen auf der ganzen Welt am Rande einer Hungersnot – und der kleinste Schock könnte sie in den Abgrund reißen. Das UN World Food Programme (WFP) arbeitet rund um die Uhr, um Hungersnöte abzuwenden. Doch damit das möglich ist, brauchen wir dringend 5,5 Milliarden US-Dollar.
Konflikte, Wirtschaftskrisen, Klimaextreme und steigende Preise für Düngemittel führen zu einer historischen Hungerkrise. Bis zu 783 Millionen Menschen wissen nicht, woher ihre nächste Mahlzeit kommt.
