"Ich bin Marieke Wagenhäuser, 34 Jahre alt, und war bis vor Kurzem in Dakar, Senegal, beim Regionalbüro für Westafrika des UN-Welternährungsprogramms (WFP) beschäftigt. Zu WFP bin ich über eine sogenannte Abordnung des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) gekommen. Schon zuvor habe ich im Rahmen der BMZ-Übergangshilfe mit WFP zur Sahel-Region gearbeitet.
Insgesamt hat WFP seit Beginn der Kämpfe Mitte Juni über 838.000 Menschen im Irak mit Ernährungshilfe unterstützt. Aufgrund der anhaltenden Kämpfe verschlechtert sich die humanitäre Situation zusehends.
Auf offizielles Ersuchen der ukrainischen Regierung leitet das UN-Welternährungsprogramm (WFP) einen Nothilfeeinsatz ein, um Menschen, die vor dem Konflikt innerhalb der Ukraine und in die Nachbarländer fliehen, mit Ernährungshilfe zu unterstützen.
"Wir sind zutiefst besorgt über die Auswirkungen der Kampfhandlungen auf das Leben und die Lebensgrundlagen der Zivilbevölkerung", sagte M
WFP versorgt Familien in Notunterkünften mit verzehrfertigen Nahrungsmitteln, die nicht gekocht werden müssen. Diejenigen, die bei Angehörigen unterkommen, erhalten reguläre Notrationen. Schätzungsweise 130.000 Menschen sind aufgebrochen und suchen Zuflucht in den Städten Al-Hasaka und Ar-Raqqa.
Das UN World Food Programme (WFP) hat in kürzester Zeit einen Nahrungsmitttel-Nothilfeeinsatz gestartet, mehr als 180 Mitarbeiter*innen eingesetzt und die Verteilung von Nahrungsmitteln erhöht, um 1,4 Millionen Menschen zu erreichen. Jedoch ist dies kaum die Hälfte derer, die wir erreichen sollten.
